IGAD at COP31: Advancing Regional Climate Action
9–20 November 2026 | Antalya, Türkiye
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) will take part in the 2026 UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) through a programme of events at the IGAD Pavilion and engagements across the conference, including official UNFCCC side events. IGAD will work with its Member States and partners to bring the Greater Horn of Africa’s climate priorities, experiences and solutions into global discussions.
At the IGAD Pavilion
The IGAD Pavilion will bring together Member States, partners, researchers and practitioners to share lessons from across the region and explore opportunities for joint action. The side events will cover topics such as climate services, early warning and anticipatory action, adaptation and climate finance, food and water security, and the links between climate, mobility, peace and security.
Beyond the IGAD Pavilion
IGAD will also take part in official UNFCCC side events and other engagements convened by partners across COP31. These sessions will provide opportunities to share lessons from the region, learn from other countries and institutions, and build partnerships around shared climate priorities.
