IGAD Bi-annual Meeting on Food Security and Nutrition
The IGAD Food Security, Nutrition and Resilience Analysis Hub (IFRAH), in collaboration with the IPC Global Support Unit for East and Central Africa (IPC-GSU), will be convening the fifth IGAD Bi-annual Meeting on Food Security and Nutrition from 02-03 June in Mombasa, Kenya. The meeting is expected to provide a forum to:
- Deliberate on the combined impact of observed drought, floods, conflict and insecurity, the Ukraine crisis, and pest outbreaks, including the African fall armyworm, on food security, nutrition and livelihoods
- Discuss the progress made in respect to the institutionalization of the IPC analytical approach over time, as well to share experiences, best practices and lessons learnt in developing and utilizing IPC, country teams and| or other partners-led food security and nutrition analyses
- Evaluate actions taken based on key food security and nutrition-related early warning and periodic analyses, as well as to identify the required immediate, medium term and long term actions going forward.
