Temperature
- Warmer than average temperature are expected in Kenya, eastern and western Uganda, southern and central Somalia, much of Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, southern and northern areas of South Sudan, and most of Sudan.
- Normal temperature are expected over western Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, southern parts of Uganda, and central areas of South Sudan.
- Cooler than usual temperature are expected over much of Tanzania, central and northern Uganda, northern Kenya, southern Ethiopia, and central, coastal and northern Somalia.
- Wetter than usual conditions are expected over limited areas in south-east, south-west, and western Tanzania, while the rest of the country is expected to experience normal and drier than usual conditions.
- The rest of the region is usually dry during February and expected to remain so.
