- Warmer than usual conditions are likely over much of Sudan, western and north-eastern South Sudan, western and southern Ethiopia, much of Kenya, southern Somalia, south-western Uganda, western and southern Tanzania, and southern Burundi.
- Usual conditions are likely over north-western and north-eastern Somalia, Djibouti, south-western and much of eastern Ethiopia, Eritrea, south-eastern South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, northern Burundi, and much of Tanzania.
- Cooler than usual conditions likely over parts of central and north-western Somalia.

Headline: Wetter than usual conditions are expected over most of the northern part of the region.
- Wetter than usual conditions are expected over southern coastal Somalia, western Kenya, eastern and western borders of Uganda, most of South Sudan, northern, central, and south-western Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, and Sudan.
- Usual conditions in coastal Kenya and isolated areas in western South Sudan, western Ethiopia, and northern Kordofan state in Sudan
- Dry conditions in the rest of the region, areas that generally do not receive rainfall in July.
