- Drier than usual conditions are expected over central, eastern and south-western Ethiopia; western Kenya, central Uganda, southern Rwanda, north-eastern Burundi, and northern and central Tanzania.
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over eastern parts of Tanzania and south-western Uganda.
- Average conditions are expected over eastern and southern Kenya, southern Uganda, eastern Rwanda, southern Burundi, and western Tanzania.
Note: Most parts of Somalia, western Ethiopia, northern Uganda, South Sudan, and Sudan are usually dry during this time of the year.

- Warmer than average temperature conditions are expected over much of the northern parts of the region including Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Rwanda and Burundi.
- Below average temperature conditions are likely over most parts of Tanzania and some parts of central Uganda.
