Temperature
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than normal temperatures expected in most of the regions of Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, northern Somalia, and parts of northern Kenya and northern Tanzania.
- Colder than normal temperatures expected over southern and western Tanzania, coastal regions of Kenya, and southern Somalia.
Mean Temperature
- Hot conditions with temperatures above 32 ℃ expected in eastern South Sudan and parts of southern Sudan.
- Moderate temperatures (between 20 - 32 ℃) expected in southern and central Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, northern and eastern Kenya, central to southern Somalia, eastern Tanzania, and most parts of Djibouti and Eritrea.
- Relatively cold conditions (less than 20℃) expected in parts of central Ethiopia, western Kenya, and a few regions of Burundi, Rwanda and southern Tanzania.
Rainfall anomalies
- More than normal rainfall expected over south-eastern Tanzania and western South Sudan.
- Less than normal rainfall expected over parts of western, southern, and northern Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and south-western Kenya.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-100mm) expected in western Burundi and most parts of central to southern Tanzania.
- Light rainfall (less than 30 mm) expected in western South Sudan, south-western Ethiopia, western and southern Uganda, Rwanda, and northern Tanzania.
- Dry conditions expected in Sudan, northern and eastern South Sudan, most of Ethiopia, eastern Uganda, north-eastern Tanzania, and most parts of Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti, and Kenya.
