Temperature
Exceptional rainfall
- Rainfall amounts exceeding the top 10% on record on record expected over parts of central Tanzania.
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over central to southern Tanzania and coastal regions of Kenya.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over eastern and western regions of Tanzania and parts of Rwanda and Burundi.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of South Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Sudan, central Ethiopia, northern Somalia, central to western Kenya and western regions of Rwanda and Burundi.
Heat Stress
- Cautionary heat stress levels expected over eastern regions of Tanzania and Kenya, southern Somalia, and eastern South Sudan.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over parts of Burundi, and central to southern Tanzania.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over coastal regions of Tanzania, Kenya, the Red Sea region, as well as parts of northern Tanzania and western Rwanda.
- Dry conditions are expected in the rest of the region.
