Temperature
● Warm temperatures above 32℃ are expected in eastern and southwestern Sudan, Afar region in
Ethiopia, northwestern Eritrea, parts of Djibouti, and the north-western coastal region of Somalia.
● Moderate temperatures in the range of 20 - 32℃ are expected in western Sudan, South Sudan, central
to northern Uganda, parts of western and southeastern Tanzania, eastern and northern Kenya,
Somalia, parts of southeastern and northern Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Eritrea.
● Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ are expected in northern, central, and
southern Ethiopia, parts of central and western Kenya, southern Uganda spreading into Rwanda and
Burundi, and parts of central and southern Tanzania.
Headline: Heavy rainfall expected in limited areas in western, Ethiopia, northern South Sudan, and southern Sudan.
Rainfall
- Heavy rainfall (top 10% in the record) is expected in few areas of western Ethiopia, southern Sudan,
and northern South Sudan. - Moderate rainfall between 50 - 100 mm is expected in southern Sudan (South Kordofan), western
South Sudan (Western Bahr el Ghazal, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Warrap and Unity states), parts of
western Ethiopia (Ilkubabr, W. Wollega, and E. Wollega regions), a few areas in central and western
Kenya and parts of southern Tanzania - Light rainfall of less than 30 mm is expected in parts of southern Sudan (south Kordofan and south
Darfur), eastern South Sudan, western Ethiopia, much of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, southern
Tanzania, western and coastal Kenya, and coastal regions of central Somalia. - Dry conditions are expected in central and northern Sudan, much of Eritrea, Djibouti, northeastern
and southeastern Ethiopia, northern Somalia, northern and eastern Kenya, parts of northern
Uganda, and western Tanzania.
