Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over South Sudan, Uganda, western Ethiopia, and a few parts of northern Somalia, western and northern Kenya and northern Tanzania
- Drier than usual conditions expected over parts of south-eastern Ethiopia, central Somalia and Rwanda.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures predicted over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA).
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in parts of central Somalia to south-eastern Ethiopia.
Mean temperatures
- Hot temperatures (above 32 ℃) expected parts of central to eastern Sudan and Afar region in Ethiopia.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, Somalia, South Sudan, Djibouti, Eritrea, Sudan, northern and eastern Kenya.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of northern, central to southern Ethiopia, western Kenya, and other isolated regions in Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over parts of central Somalia to southern Ethiopia, south-western Uganda to Rwanda and western Kenya
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected in northern and coastal Tanzania, Burundi, central to western Kenya, eastern Uganda, South Sudan, south-western Sudan, and most parts of southern Ethiopia and central to southern Somalia.
- Dry conditions expected over central to northern Sudan, central to northern Ethiopia, central to southern Tanzania and parts of eastern and northern Kenya, northern Somalia and western Eritrea.
