Temperature
Temperature Anomalies
- Warmer than normal temperatures expected in most parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and much of central Tanzania and western Kenya.
- Cooler than normal temperatures expected in a few regions over central Ethiopia, central Kenya, and southern and western Tanzania.
Mean Temperature
- Hot conditions with temperatures above 32 ℃ expected over southern to eastern Sudan, and central to north-eastern South Sudan.
- Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ expected over much of central to northern Sudan, western parts of South Sudan, Uganda, much of Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti; western, south-eastern and north-eastern parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, and much of Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ expected in parts of central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, Burundi, western Rwanda, and few areas in south-western Tanzania.
Exceptional Rainfall
- Heavy to Very Heavy (top 10-5%) rainfall expected over few areas in southern Tanzania.
Total Rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-100 mm) expected over southern Tanzania, Burundi as well as a few regions in coastal Kenya, north-western South Sudan, and south-western Sudan.
- Light rainfall less than 30 mm is expected over southern Sudan, northern South Sudan, southern Uganda, Rwanda, central to northern Tanzania, most parts of eastern and central Kenya, and southern Somalia.
- Dry conditions expected in central to northern Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, northern Somalia, most parts of Ethiopia, western Kenya, central to northern Uganda, and southern South Sudan.
Rainfall Anomalies
- More than normal rainfall expected over southern Sudan, northern South Sudan, southern Tanzania, and a few areas of coastal Kenya and Somalia.
- Less than normal rainfall expected over most parts of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, central to northern Tanzania, southern Ethiopia, and southern South Sudan.
