Temperature
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over most parts of central to northern Tanzania, central, western to northern and southern parts of Kenya, southern Ethiopia, and central to eastern regions of both Rwanda and Burundi.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over parts of western and southern Tanzania.
Exceptional rainfall
- Rainfall exceeding the 90th percentile expected over southern, central and northern parts of Kenya, southern Ethiopia and central to northern Tanzania.
- There is a likelihood of flooding incidences over the flood prone areas in southern, central and northern parts of Kenya, southern Ethiopia and central to central-northern and pockets in eastern Tanzania.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over most parts of central to southern Sudan, northern South Sudan, a few parts of western Kenya and southern Ethiopia, and other isolated regions across the GHA.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, southern and north-eastern Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Eritrea.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of northern Sudan, over the highlands of Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, northern Somalia, and western regions of Rwanda and Burundi.
Heat Stress
- A forecast of elevated heat stress conditions is given over South-eastern Tanzania, eastern Kenya, southern Somalia, and eastern parts of South Sudan with values expected to reach the Extreme Caution category.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over most parts of Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, central to northern Kenya and parts of southern Ethiopia.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over most parts of Uganda, eastern Kenya, southern South Sudan, parts of southern Ethiopia, southern and northern Somalia and coastal regions of Eritrea.
