Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over Rwanda, Uganda, western Kenya, South Sudan, western Ethiopia, and southern Sudan
- Drier than usual conditions expected over a few isolated regions in Sudan, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures predicted over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA).
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in southern Sudan, central South Sudan, western Eritrea, and central to western Uganda.
Mean temperatures
- Hot temperatures (above 32 ℃) expected over northern Sudan, coastal regions of Eritrea and northern Somalia, Afar region in Ethiopia, and parts of Djibouti.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over southern parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Somalia, eastern parts of Rwanda and Burundi, eastern and northern Kenya, south-eastern Somalia, and most parts of Tanzania.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to southern Ethiopia, western Kenya, and central parts of Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Heavy rainfall (above 200mm) expected over a few places in western Ethiopia.
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over southern Sudan, western Ethiopia, western Kenya, and most parts of South Sudan and Somalia.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected in central Sudan, western Eritrea, eastern Ethiopia, northern and southern Somalia, coastal regions of Kenya and Somalia, northern Tanzania, and parts of western Kenya.
- Dry conditions expected over northern Sudan, coastal Eritrea, Djibouti, central Somalia, south-eastern Ethiopia, eastern and northern Kenya, southern Burundi, and western and southern Tanzania.
