Temperature
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected most parts of Rwanda, Burundi, northern Uganda, southern parts of Ethiopia, southern Somalia, eastern and western Kenya, and parts of eastern and north-western Tanzania.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over parts of central to northern Somalia, south-western Ethiopia, cross-border regions of Sudan and South Sudan, central to southern Uganda and south-western Kenya.
Exceptional rainfall
- Rainfall exceeding the 90th percentile expected over most parts of southern Ethiopia, southern Somalia, parts of north-eastern Uganda and northern Kenya.
Floods Update
- Flooding incidences are expected over most parts of southern and central-eastern Ethiopia, southern Somalia, and parts of central-western Kenya.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the GHA.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over parts of central to northern Sudan and other isolated regions across the GHA.
Mean temperatures
- Elevated temperatures exceeding 32℃ expected over parts of southern Sudan and Afar region in Ethiopia.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of the GHA.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected most of the highlands across the GHA.
Heat Stress
- Elevated heat stress within the ‘extreme caution’ category expected over most parts of South Sudan, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, eastern and northern Kenya, central to southern Somalia and Afar region in Ethiopia.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over most parts of Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, northern and eastern Uganda, and southern regions of Ethiopia and Somalia.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over most parts of Tanzania, Kenya, central to northern Somalia, south-eastern and central to northern Ethiopia, southern Uganda and northern parts of South Sudan.
