Temperature
- Warmer than average temperatures are expected in most parts of the region. Temperature anomalies above 2°C than average temperatures are expected in most of Sudan, northern Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, western Kenya, northern Tanzania, and Somalia.
- Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ are expected in most parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, north-eastern and south-eastern Ethiopia, eastern and northern Kenya, Uganda, and most parts of Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ are expected in central Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, and a few regions in south-western Uganda, northern Somalia, and southern Tanzania.
Headline: Relatively dry conditions and warmer than average temperatures expected in most parts of Eastern Africa.
Rainfall
- Moderate rainfall between 50 - 100 mm is expected in south-western Uganda, western and coastal Tanzania; and a few areas in northern Kenya, western Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Burundi.
- Light rainfall of less than 30 mm is expected in the majority of the regions including northern South Sudan, southern Ethiopia, northern and southern Somalia, most parts of Kenya; western Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and parts of Tanzania.
- Dry conditions are expected in Sudan, northern and south-eastern Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, central Somalia, north-western Kenya, southern South Sudan, and central Tanzania.
