Temperature
Temperature Anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected in eastern Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, eastern and southern South Sudan, northern and central Kenya, and a few areas in Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania.
- Colder than usual temperatures expected over much of Sudan, and parts of western and southern Tanzania.
Mean Temperature
- Moderate temperatures (between 20 - 32 ℃) expected in southern Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, eastern and northern Kenya, central to southern Somalia, Djibouti, most parts of Eritrea, southern, western, and north-eastern Ethiopia, and most places over Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions (less than 20℃) expected in central to northern Sudan, parts of central Ethiopia, parts of northern Somalia, parts of central and western Kenya, and few places in Tanzania.
Exceptional Rainfall
- Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall (top 10-5%) expected over parts of northern and southern Tanzania.
Rainfall Anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over the southern and eastern regions of Tanzania, and eastern Burundi.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over Rwanda, parts of northern and western Tanzania.
Total Rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (between 100-200mm) expected in most parts of central and southern Tanzania, and eastern Burundi. Amounts above 200mm are forecasted in a few areas of Lindi and Mtwara in southern Tanzania.
- Light rainfall (less than 30 mm) expected in Rwanda, northern areas of Tanzania, a few areas in south-western Kenya, and parts of coastal regions of Sudan and Eritrea.
- Dry conditions expected in Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya and Uganda.
