Rainfall
Temperature
- Warm temperatures above 32℃ are expected in northern Sudan, coastal Eritrea, Afar region in Ethiopia, Djibouti, and northern coastal regions of Somalia.
- Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ are expected in southern Sudan, South Sudan, south-eastern and north-eastern Ethiopia, Somalia, eastern and north-western Kenya, central to northern Uganda, and parts of north-western and eastern Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ are expected in western Ethiopia, parts of central to western Kenya, southern Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and central and southern Tanzania.
Headline: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over parts of southern and central parts of Sudan, north-western Ethiopia, and Eritrea. Authorities and the public in these areas are advised to take appropriate measures to protect lives and livelihoods.
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10 to 5% on record) is expected in regions of Darfur and Kordofan in Sudan, Gash-Barka in Eritrea, and northern regions of Ethiopia including Tigray and Amhara. Total rainfall above 100 mm is forecasted in these regions.
- Moderate rainfall between 50 - 100 mm is expected over central to northern Uganda, parts of western Kenya, much of South Sudan, southern Sudan, central and western Ethiopia, and western Eritrea.
- Light rainfall of less than 30 mm is expected over parts of central to northern Sudan, parts of south-eastern South Sudan, and eastern Ethiopia.
