Temperature
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over much of Rwanda, Burundi, central and northern Tanzania, western Uganda, south-western and central Ethiopia and parts of south-western South Sudan.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over parts of southern and western Tanzania.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over few areas in western Sudan.
- Rainfall exceeding the 90th percentile is expected over Burundi, parts of Rwanda and few areas over eastern and northern Tanzania.
Mean temperatures
- High temperatures (above 32℃) expected over parts of eastern South Sudan, western Ethiopia, and north-western Kenya.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of Ethiopian highlands, central to western Kenya, western Rwanda and Burundi.
Heat Stress
- Elevated heat stress levels Elevated heat stress expected in most parts of South Sudan, Sudan, eastern Kenya and Tanzania, and southern Somalia.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over most parts of Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, south-western Uganda, and in few areas of western Ethiopia.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over parts of southern and western Uganda, most parts of South Sudan, southern and western Kenya, a few places in northern Tanzania and parts of central to south-western Ethiopia.
