Temperature
- Warmer than normal temperatures expected in Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and much of central and southern Tanzania.
- Cooler than normal temperatures expected in South Sudan, northern Uganda, western Tanzania, and western Ethiopia.
- Hot conditions with temperatures above 32 ℃ expected over southern to eastern Sudan.
- Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ expected over much of Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, much of Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti; western, south-eastern, and north-eastern parts of Ethiopia; Eritrea, and much of Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ expected in parts of central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, and few areas in south-western Tanzania.
- More than normal rainfall expected over southern Sudan, South Sudan, most parts of Tanzania, northern Uganda, western and southern Ethiopia, and few areas in western Kenya.
- Less than normal rainfall expected over eastern parts of Kenya, parts of southern Uganda, southern Somalia, and isolated parts in central Ethiopia.
- Moderate (50-100 mm) to heavy rainfall (100-200mm) expected over most parts of Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, South Sudan as well as western Ethiopia.
- Light rainfall (less than 30 mm) expected over most parts of Kenya, southern Ethiopia, most parts of Somalia, and southern Sudan.
- Dry conditions expected in central to eastern Kenya, and northern Somalia. The rest of the region is generally dry during this period.
