Temperature Forecast 12 - 19 May
- Warm temperatures above 32℃ are expected in northern and eastern parts of Sudan (North Kordofan, Khartoum, River Nile and southern Red Sea regions), Afar region in Ethiopia, parts of Djibouti, and coastal regions of Awdal, Bari, Nugal and Mudug in Somalia.
- Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ are expected in much of Sudan, South Sudan, central to northern Uganda, eastern and northern Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, southern and north-eastern Ethiopia, and parts of south-eastern and western Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ are expected in central Ethiopia, parts of central and western Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and central and southern Tanzania.

Rainfall Forecast 12 - 19 May
Headline: Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected over the Kenya - Uganda border, parts of western Darfur region of Sudan, and border areas of Ethiopia - Sudan - South Sudan. General reduction of rainfall is expected in majority of the regions.
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall over 200 mm (top 10 to 5% on record) is expected in a fews areas of the Kenya - Uganda border, parts of the western Darfur region, Ethiopia - Sudan - South Sudan border areas, and parts of western Ethiopia.
- Moderate to heavy rainfall between 50 - 200 mm is expected in western Kenya into eastern and northern Uganda, central and northern South Sudan, southern Sudan, western and central Ethiopia, and western Eritrea.
- Light rainfall of less than 30 mm is expected in parts of central and north-eastern Sudan, parts of western and south-eastern South Sudan, parts of eastern Ethiopia, northern and southern Somalia, parts of western and central Kenya, central and southern Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and regions in northern and southern Tanzania.
- Dry conditions are expected in central Tanzania, eastern and northern Kenya, central Somalia, south-eastern and north-eastern Ethiopia, Djibouti, southern Ethiopia, and western Sudan.
Note: 1 mm of rainfall is equivalent to 1 litre of rainfall per square meter.
