Rainfall anomalies
- Wetter than usual conditions expected over southern Sudan, western Ethiopia, and southern regions of Somalia.
- Drier than usual conditions expected over South Sudan, northern Somalia, western Kenya, Uganda, and part of southern Ethiopia
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures predicted over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA).
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in southwestern Sudan and western Ethiopia
Mean temperatures
- Hot temperatures (above 32 ℃) expected over northern Sudan, coastal regions of Eritrea and northern Somalia, Afar region of Ethiopia, and parts of Djibouti.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over southern parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Somalia, eastern and northern Kenya, most parts of Tanzania, and eastern parts of Rwanda and Burundi.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to western Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, western Rwanda and Burundi, and central parts of Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Heavy rainfall (above 200mm) expected over few places in western Ethiopia.
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over south-western Sudan, western South Sudan, and central to western Ethiopia.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected in central Sudan, western Eritrea, eastern Ethiopia and South Sudan, most parts of Somalia, coastal and south-western Kenya, Uganda, eastern Tanzania, Rwanda and northern Burundi.
- Dry conditions expected over northern Sudan, coastal Eritrea, northern Somalia, south-eastern Ethiopia, eastern and northern Kenya, southern Burundi, and western and southern Tanzania.
