Temperature
Exceptional rainfall
- Rainfall amounts exceeding the top 10% on record expected over southern areas of Kenya, northern Tanzania, Rwanda, and part of northern Burundi.
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over parts of eastern to south-western South Sudan, central to western Uganda, Rwanda, northern Burundi, western to northern Tanzania, most parts of southern Kenya, and parts of southern Somalia.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over few places in central Kenya, north-eastern Somalia, southern Burundi, and central to southern Tanzania.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa (GHA) region.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, and north-eastern and southern Ethiopia.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of north-western Sudan, northern to southern Ethiopia, northern Somalia, central to western Kenya, western parts of Rwanda, and much of Burundi.
Heat Stress
- Cautionary heat stress levels expected in eastern regions of Kenya, coastal Tanzania, South Sudan, and parts of southern Somalia.
Total rainfall
- Heavy rainfall (>200mm) expected over parts of Rwanda and few places in south-western Kenya.
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over southern areas of Kenya, western South Sudan, central to western Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and northern to western Tanzania.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over parts of southern to central Tanzania, central to northern Kenya, eastern Uganda, much of central to southern South Sudan, southern Ethiopia, and part of southern Somalia.
