Temperature
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected in most of Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Uganda, and Kenya.
- Colder than usual temperatures expected over southern and northern Tanzania, western Kenya, and a few areas in coastal Somalia and central Sudan.
Mean temperature
- Moderate temperatures (between 20 - 32 ℃) expected in southern Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, eastern and northern Kenya, central to southern Somalia, Djibouti, most parts of Eritrea, southern, western and north-eastern Ethiopia and most places in Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions (less than 20℃) expected in northern Sudan, parts of central Ethiopia, northern Somalia, parts of central and western Kenya, most of Burundi, western Rwanda, and a few areas in northern and south-western Tanzania.
Exceptional rainfall
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10-5%) expected over parts of eastern Burundi, and northern and southern Tanzania (Mtwara & Lindi regions) .
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over Rwanda, Burundi, northern and eastern Tanzania, south-western Kenya, and southeastern Uganda.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over western and south-western regions of Tanzania.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (between 50-200mm) expected in most parts of central and northern Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and a few places in south-western Kenya. A few regions in southern Tanzania are expected to receive over 200mm.
- Light rainfall (less than 30 mm) expected in southern Uganda, south-western Kenya, and parts of western Tanzania.
- Dry conditions expected in Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, northern and eastern Kenya, and northern parts of Uganda.
