Temperature Forecast
- Warm temperatures above 28℃ are expected in eastern South Sudan, northern and eastern Kenya, south-eastern Somalia, and a few places in south-eastern Ethiopia.
- Moderate temperatures in the range of 20 - 28℃ are expected in southern Sudan, western South Sudan, Uganda, parts of south-eastern Kenya, central Somalia; southern, north-eastern and western Ethiopia; Djibouti, southern Eritrea, and much of Tanzania.
- Relatively colder than usual temperatures below 20℃ are expected in regions of northern Sudan, central Ethiopia, western Eritrea, northern Somalia, parts of western and central Kenya, western Rwanda, Burundi, and a few areas in Tanzania.
Rainfall Forecast
Headline: Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in southern Tanzania. While lighter rain is expected over western Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, and central Ethiopia.
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall of 100 - 200 mm (among the top 10% and top 5% on record) is expected in south-eastern Tanzania.
- Moderate rainfall between 50 - 100 mm is expected in parts of central Tanzania, a few places in Burundi, a few places in western Kenya, and south-western Ethiopia.
- Light rainfall, up to 30 mm, is expected in Rwanda, Uganda, western and coastal Kenya, south-western to north-eastern Ethiopia, coastal regions of Eritrea, Djibouti, and Somalia.
- Dry conditions are expected over Sudan, much of South Sudan, northern and south-eastern Ethiopia, western Eritrea, Djibouti, much of Somalia, and eastern and north-western Kenya.
