Temperature
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over most parts of Rwanda, Burundi, northern Tanzania, western Kenya, eastern Uganda, and south-western Ethiopia.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over parts of western and eastern Tanzania.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the region.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over most parts of Sudan.
- Rainfall exceeding the 90th percentile expected over parts of central to northern Tanzania, and most parts of Burundi.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of the GHA.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over central to northern Sudan, central to northern Ethiopia, northern Somalia, south-western Uganda, central to western Kenya, Burundi and western regions of Rwanda.
Heat Stress
- Elevated heat stress levels expected in eastern regions of Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan and south-eastern Somalia
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over parts of eastern Uganda, south-western Kenya, parts of Ethiopian highlands, Burundi, Rwanda and most parts of Tanzania.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over central to eastern Uganda, south-eastern South Sudan, central to north-eastern Ethiopia, the Red Sea coast and a few parts of southern Somalia.
