Rainfall
Temperature
- Warm temperatures above 32℃ are expected in northern Sudan, coastal Eritrea, Afar region in Ethiopia, Djibouti, and northern coastal regions of Somalia.
- Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ are expected in southern Sudan, South Sudan, south-eastern and north-eastern Ethiopia, Somalia, eastern and north-western Kenya, central to northern Uganda, and parts of north-western and eastern Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ are expected in western Ethiopia, parts of central to western Kenya, southern Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and central and southern Tanzania.
Headline: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over parts of northern Ethiopia, western Eritrea, and eastern Sudan. Authorities and the public in these areas are advised to take the appropriate measures to protect lives and livelihoods.
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10 to 5% on record) is expected in regions of Al Qadarif and Sennar in Sudan, Gash-Barka and Debu in Eritrea, and parts of Tigray, western Amhara, and southern Afar. Total rainfall above 100 mm is forecast in these regions.
- Moderate rainfall between 50 - 100 mm is expected over southern Sudan, western South Sudan, parts of central to north-eastern Uganda, few areas in western Kenya, and much of western and northern Ethiopia into western Eritrea.
- Light rainfall less than 30 mm is expected over parts of northern and southern Somalia, western Kenya, parts of western Rwanda, much of Uganda. Eastern South Sudan, southern Sudan, and eastern Ethiopia.
