Temperature
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over much of Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, north-western Tanzania, western Ethiopia and parts of south-western South Sudan.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over the parts of eastern and southern Tanzania.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, eastern and south-eastern Ethiopia, and parts of western Kenya, and central and southern Tanzania.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over much of Sudan and southern South Sudan, as well as parts of southern Uganda and western Tanzania.
- Rainfall exceeding the 90th percentile over much of Rwanda, north-western Tanzania, southern Uganda, north-eastern Kenya, and north-central and south-western Ethiopia.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of the Ethiopian Highlands, central to western Kenya, western Rwanda and Burundi, and northern Sudan.
Heat Stress
- Elevated heat stress levels expected in southern Sudan, most of South Sudan, and parts of eastern Tanzania, eastern Kenya, and southern Somalia.
Total rainfall
- Heavy rainfall (> 200mm) expected over the southern parts of Rwanda.
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over much of Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and parts of north-eastern and western Kenya, southern South Sudan and parts of central and south-western Ethiopia.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over parts of eastern Tanzania, much of Kenya, north-eastern Uganda, southern and eastern Uganda, western South Sudan, southern and western Kenya, northern Tanzania and parts of central, southern and western Ethiopia.
