Rainfall
Temperature
- Warmer than normal temperatures expected in Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, northern Ethiopia, and most of central and southern Tanzania.
- Cooler than normal temperatures expected in South Sudan, northern Uganda, western Tanzania, western Ethiopia and in the cross border areas of Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya.
- Hot conditions (above 32 ℃) expected over parts of southern and eastern Sudan, and north-eastern Ethiopia.
- Moderate temperatures (20 - 32 ℃) expected over most of Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, most of Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, western, south-eastern and eastern parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, and most of Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions (less than 20℃) expected in parts of central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, and few areas in south-western Tanzania.
- More than normal rainfall expected over southern Sudan, South Sudan, northern Tanzania, Burundi, western Rwanda, northern Uganda, western and southern Ethiopia, southern Somalia, and a few areas in western Kenya.
- Less than normal rainfall expected over eastern parts of Kenya, eastern parts of Rwanda, and eastern and southern parts of Tanzania.
- Heavy rainfall (100-200mm) expected over cross border areas of Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya, and isolated areas in northern Tanzania and southern Kenya.
- Moderate rainfall (50-100mm) expected over most parts of Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, northern Tanzania, southern Sudan, and western Ethiopia.
- Light rainfall (less than 30 mm) expected over north-western and eastern Kenya, northern Somalia, north-western Ethiopia, central Sudan, and isolated places over central to southern Tanzania.
- Dry conditions expected in isolated areas in eastern Kenya, and central to southern parts of Tanzania. The rest of the region is generally dry during this period.
