Temperature
Temperature Anomalies
- Warmer than normal temperatures expected in most parts of Ethiopia, eastern Sudan, north-eastern South Sudan, Djibouti, and Kenya.
- Cooler than normal temperatures expected in most parts of Sudan, south-western South Sudan and a few areas in Uganda, and western and southern Tanzania.
Mean Temperature
- Hot conditions (above 32 ℃) expected in border regions of eastern South Sudan to western Ethiopia, and north-western Kenya.
- Moderate temperatures (between 20 - 32 ℃) expected over central to southern Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, much of Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, most parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea, eastern Rwanda, and Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures (less than 20℃) expected in northern Sudan, parts of central to northern Ethiopia, central to western Kenya, a few areas in northern Somalia, western Eritrea, southern Tanzania, Burundi, and western Rwanda.
Exceptional Rainfall
- Heavy to Very Heavy (top 10 - 5%) rainfall expected over north- eastern Tanzania into south-western Kenya, and parts of eastern Rwanda and Burundi.
Rainfall Anomalies
- More than normal rainfall expected over southern South Sudan, south-western Ethiopia, south-western Kenya, Uganda, parts of northern Tanzania, eastern Burundi, and Rwanda.
- Less than normal rainfall expected over central to southern Tanzania, and south-eastern Kenya.
Total Rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50 - 200 mm) expected over western Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, northern Tanzania, and a few areas in south-western Kenya.
- Light rainfall (less than 30 mm) is expected over southern South Sudan, south-western Ethiopia, north- western Kenya, and parts of south-western Tanzania.
- Dry conditions expected in Somalia, eastern Kenya, Djibouti, and south-eastern and north-western Ethiopia.
