Temperature
Exceptional rainfall
- Rainfall amounts exceeding the top 10% on record expected in a few areas of Burundi, Rwanda, and north-western Tanzania.
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over most parts of Rwanda, Burundi, central to northern Tanzania and central to western Kenya.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over parts of central to southern Tanzania.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the GHA.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over parts of eastern Kenya, coastal Somalia, and other isolated areas across the GHA.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, southern Sudan and southern and north-eastern regions of Ethiopia.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over Rwanda, Burundi, and parts of northern Sudan, central Ethiopia, western Kenya and northern Somalia.
Heat Stress
- Elevated heat stress levels expected over eastern Tanzania, coastal regions of Kenya, southern Somalia and eastern regions of South Sudan.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over most parts of Rwanda, Burundi and central to western Tanzania.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over southern parts of Kenya and Uganda, eastern Tanzania and parts of the Red Sea coast.
