Rainfall
Temperature
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over most parts of South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, western Kenya and parts of southern Sudan and central Somalia.
- Less than usual rainfall expected over southern parts of Kenya and most parts of Tanzania.
Exceptional rainfall
- Rainfall exceeding the 90th percentile expected over parts of southern and north-eastern Ethiopia.
- There is a likelihood of Flooding incidences over the flood prone areas over southern and north-eastern Ethiopia and central to north-western Rwanda.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Tanzania and eastern Ethiopia.
- Cooler than usual temperatures expected over central to eastern parts of South Sudan into western Ethiopia and most highland regions across the GHA.
Mean temperatures
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of the GHA.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of the Ethiopian highlands, central to western Kenya and western regions of both Rwanda and Burundi.
Heat Stress
- Elevated heat stress with extreme caution category over most parts of South Sudan, southern Sudan, eastern Kenya, coastal regions of Tanzania, and southern parts of Somalia. In some days, heat stress might get to the danger level over the Afar region of Ethiopia.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over most parts of Rwanda, Burundi, western and southern Tanzania, central and southern Ethiopia as well as most parts of South Sudan.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over most parts of Kenya, Somalia, northern Tanzania, central to northern Uganda, south-eastern and northern Ethiopia, and southern parts of Sudan.
