Temperature
Exceptional rainfall
- Rainfall amounts exceeding the top 10% on record expected in a few places in north-eastern Somalia, central to western Ethiopia, southern Sudan and eastern South Sudan.
Rainfall anomalies
- More than usual rainfall expected over parts of north-western South Sudan, southern Sudan, western Ethiopia, northern Uganda, western Kenya and north-eastern Somalia.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the GHA.
Mean temperatures
- High temperatures (above 32℃) expected over central to eastern parts of Sudan, north-eastern Ethiopia, Djibouti, and northwestern Somalia.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of South Sudan, Eritrea, Uganda, Somalia, Tanzania, and eastern and northern Kenya.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of central to western Kenya, northern to southern Ethiopia, western Burundi, western Rwanda and central parts of Tanzania.
Heat Stress
- Elevated levels of heat stress expected in most parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, northern Somalia and north-eastern Ethiopia.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over most parts of South Sudan and Uganda, parts of southern Sudan, western Ethiopia, western Kenya and isolated areas in northern Somalia.
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected in parts of northern Somalia, eastern Ethiopia, central Sudan, eastern South Sudan, southern Uganda, and parts of western Kenya.
