Temperature
Rainfall anomalies
- Less than usual rainfall expected over most parts of Tanzania and eastern Burundi.
- More than usual rainfall expected over western parts of Burundi and parts of Rwanda.
Temperature anomalies
- Warmer than usual temperatures expected over most parts of the GHA.
- Cooler-than-usual temperatures are expected over parts of the coastal regions of Somalia and Kenya, as well as the highlands of Tanzania.
Mean temperatures
- High temperatures (above 32℃) expected over parts of eastern South Sudan.
- Moderate to high temperatures (20-32℃) expected over most parts of the Greater Horn of Africa.
- Mild temperature conditions (less than 20℃) expected over parts of northern Sudan, Ethiopian highlands, western Rwanda, and central to western Kenya.
Heat Stress
- Elevated heat stress levels expected in most parts of South Sudan, eastern parts of Tanzania, parts of southern Sudan, eastern Kenya and southern Somalia.
Total rainfall
- Moderate rainfall (50-200mm) expected over Burundi, most parts of Rwanda and western and southern parts of Tanzania
- Light rainfall (less than 50 mm) expected over parts of eastern and central Tanzania, southern Uganda, a few regions in coastal and western Kenya, and parts of the Red Sea coast.
