Rainfall
Temperature
- Warmer than usual temperatures are expected in most parts of the region. Temperature anomalies are predicted to exceed 2℃ in Sudan, Eritrea, northern Ethiopia, and parts of Djibouti.
- Moderate temperatures between 20 - 32 ℃ are expected in Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, north-eastern and south-eastern Ethiopia, eastern and northern Kenya, eastern parts of Rwanda and Burundi, and most parts of Uganda and Tanzania.
- Relatively cold conditions with temperatures less than 20℃ are expected in central and northern Ethiopia, parts of central to western Kenya, a few regions in south-western Uganda, western Rwanda and Burundi, and southern and eastern Tanzania.
Headline: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in border areas of Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia. Temperatures are expected to be warmer than usual in most parts of the region.

- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (top 10-5% on record) is expected in cross-border regions of Kenya (Wajir and Mandera counties), Somalia (Gedo and Bakool), and Ethiopia (Gode and Afder) with total amounts up to 100 mm.
- Moderate rainfall between 50 - 100 mm is expected in limited regions in south-western Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, western Tanzania, central and north-eastern Kenya, southern Somalia, and southern and western Ethiopia.
- Light rainfall of less than 30 mm is expected in parts of northern Tanzania; coastal, central, and north-eastern Kenya; southern and north-western Somalia, southern Ethiopia, central South Sudan, and Djibouti.
- Dry conditions are expected in Sudan, southern South Sudan, Eritrea, northern Ethiopia, parts of northern Somalia, north-western Kenya into western Uganda, and southern Tanzania.
