Temperature
- High temperatures above 32 oC forecasted in northern Sudan, northern coast of Eritrea into the northeastern Ethiopia.
- Moderate temperatures between 20-32 oC forecasted in southern Sudan, South Sudan, north & southeastern Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, eastern & northwestern Kenya, northern Uganda, western & coastal Tanzania.
- Low temperatures less than 20 oC forecasted in much of central Ethiopia, western Kenya, southern Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and central to southern Tanzania.
Note to users: ICPAC is increasing the frequency of its operational forecast services and has transitioned from 10 - daily to weekly forecasts. We started providing week-long forecasts every Monday evening beginning 21 July 2020. The forecasts are valid from 9:01 AM on Tuesday to 9:00 AM the following week on Tuesday.
- Heavy rainfall above 200mm forecasted in northern Ethiopia, parts of Eritrea, southern parts of Sudan and parts of northern South Sudan
- Moderate rainfall, 50-200mm forecasted in southern Sudan, much of South Sudan, central and northern Ethiopia, much of Eritrea, Djibouti, northeastern Somalia and parts of northeastern Uganda and western Kenya.
- Light rainfall less than 50mm forecasted in eastern Tanzania, coastal and western Kenya, northern and western Uganda, Rwanda, much of Somalia, southern Ethiopia, southeastern South Sudan and parts of central and northern Sudan.
