Rainfall
Moderately wet to extremely wet conditions
- Observed in a few pockets in Tanzania, several parts in Kenya, South Sudan, southern Sudan, Djibouti, several pockets in Ethiopia and Somalia.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions
- Observed in a few pockets in the region including a few pockets in central Somalia, northern parts of Ethiopia, and northwestern parts of Eritrea.
Usual rainfall and no rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Much Wetter than usual conditions
- Observed in several parts including western and northeastern parts of Tanzania, eastern parts of Uganda, several parts of South Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia and western Eritrea.
Wetter than usual conditions
- Observed in Tanzania, eastern half of Uganda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, eastern Eritrea, and southern parts of Sudan.
Drier to much drier than usual conditions
- Observed in a few pockets in southern Somalia and northern Ethiopia.
Usual or no rainfall conditions were observed in much of Sudan.
High Rainfall exceeding 200mm
- Observed in southern parts of Tanzania, southeastern Uganda, central to western parts of Kenya, and southwestern Ethiopia.
Moderate rainfall of between 101mm and 200mm
- Observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, southern South Sudan, and several parts of Ethiopia.
Light rainfall between 11 and 100 mm
- Observed in South Sudan, northwestern and northeastern parts of Kenya, Somalia, several parts of Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Eritrea.
Little or No rain conditions not exceeding 10mm
- Observed in northern South Sudan, Sudan, northwestern and eastern Ethiopia, western Eritrea, and several parts of Somalia.
