Rainfall
High Rainfall exceeding 200mm
- Observed in a few pockets in coastal Tanzania, western Kenya and a few pockets in Ethiopia.
Moderate rainfall of between 101 and 200mm
- Observed in several parts of the region including coastal and northwestern parts of Tanzania, coastal and western parts of Kenya, eastern parts of Uganda, several parts of South Sudan, central to western parts of Ethiopia and southern Somalia.
Light rainfall between 11 and 100 mm
- Observed in most parts of the region including Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, western Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, southern Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia.
Little or No rain conditions not exceeding 10mm
- Observed in a few pockets in central to western parts of Tanzania, northeastern parts of Kenya, Somalia, northern parts of Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea and Sudan.
Moderately wet to extremely wet conditions
- Observed in a few pockets in Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions
- Observed in several parts in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, eastern parts of Kenya, the horn of Africa region, southern Ethiopia, southern Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan.
Usual rainfall and no rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
Much Wetter than usual conditions
- Observed in very few pockets in southern Tanzania, and southeastern lowlands of Kenya.
Wetter than usual conditions
- Observed mostly in a few pockets in Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, eastern parts of Ethiopia and the border regions of Sudan and Ethiopia.
Drier to much drier than usual conditions
- Observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, central Uganda, eastern parts of Kenya, the Horn of Africa region including the border region between Ethiopia and Somalia, pockets in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti and Sudan.
Usual or no rainfall conditions were observed in the rest of the region.
