Recent rainfall totals

Moderate to heavy rainfall between 200 - 500 mm was observed in south-western Tanzania.

Moderate rainfall between 100 - 200 mm observed in western parts and Lake Victoria regions of Uganda, western parts of Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and north-western and western parts of Tanzania.

Light rainfall between 10 - 100 mm observed over several parts of central Eritrea, some parts of eastern Djibouti; western, central, and southern Ethiopia; western and southern parts of South Sudan; northern, eastern, central and south-western Uganda; over south-eastern Somalia, several parts of Kenya, and north-eastern Tanzania.

Dry conditions (normal during this time of the year) in most of Sudan, northern parts of South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, northern and eastern Ethiopia; northern, central, and south-eastern Somalia; in parts of northern and eastern parts of Kenya.

Recent rainfall anomalies

Wetter than usual conditions observed in south-western part of Tanzania.

Normal rainfall conditions observed over central parts of Somalia, in a few areas in western and south-western South Sudan, in eastern Ethiopia, in several parts of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, western part of Kenya, and much of western Tanzania.

Moderately drier than normal conditions observed in several parts of South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Ethiopia, northern and southern Somalia, much of Kenya, and central, north-eastern and eastern parts of Tanzania.

Much drier than normal conditions observed in eastern and coastal parts of Kenya.

Standardized Precipitation Index

Moderately wetter than normal to severely wet conditions observed in south-western part of Tanzania.

Normal rainfall conditions observed in parts of western and south-western South Sudan, north-western and eastern parts of Ethiopia, central and southern Somalia; over several parts of north, west, and eastern Uganda; western and eastern Kenya, few areas in Rwanda, north-western Burundi, and western, central and south-western Tanzania.

Moderately drier than normal to severely dry conditions observed in several parts of north, central and eastern South Sudan, much of Eritrea, Djibouti; north-eastern, central, and south-western Ethiopia; northern Somalia, southern and central parts of Uganda, several parts of Rwanda, in much of Burundi, Kenya, and northern and eastern parts of Tanzania.
