Rainfall
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in part of southwest Sudan and northwest South Sudan, in western and parts of eastern Ethiopia, in parts of northwestern and southeastern Somalia, in southwestern Uganda, in parts of western, central and coastal Kenya, in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, and in parts of northern and eastern Tanzania.
Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in parts of western Eritrea, in southeastern and southern parts of Sudan, in central and southern South Sudan, and in northwestern Uganda.
Usual rainfall conditions and no rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.
Drier than usual conditions were observed in eastern and southwestern Ethiopia, in northwestern, central and coastal Kenya, in northwestern and southeastern Somalia, in northeastern and southwestern Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, and in northern and eastern Tanzania.
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in western part of Eritrea, in south-central and southeastern Sudan, in central to southern South Sudan, and in northwestern Uganda.
Near Normal rainfall conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in northern South Sudan, in northwestern, central and western parts of Ethiopia, in central and southeastern Uganda, and in western parts of Kenya.
No rainfall conditions were observed in northern to central Sudan, in coastal, central and southern Eritrea, in northeastern, southeastern and eastern Ethiopia, in several parts of northern, central and southwestern Somalia, in northern and eastern Kenya, and in northwestern, western, central and southern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall of between 51-100 mm was observed in northwestern and western parts of Ethiopia, in several parts of South Sudan, and in northwestern Uganda.
Moderate rainfall of between 26 - 50 mm was observed in some parts of southwestern, south-central and southeastern Sudan, in northern and eastern South Sudan, in central and southeastern Uganda, and in western parts of Kenya.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in southern parts of Sudan, in southwestern Eritrea, in parts of central Ethiopia, in southwestern part of Somalia, in northeastern and southwestern parts of Uganda, in parts of central and coastal Kenya.
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in much of central and northern Sudan, in coastal, central and southern Eritrea, in much of Djibouti, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania, in northeastern, eastern and southern Ethiopia, in northern central and southern Somalia, and in northern, central eastern and southeastern Kenya.
