Rainfall
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in central and northwestern parts of Somalia, in southern and eastern Ethiopia, in several parts of Kenya, and in parts of southern Tanzania.
Drier than usual conditions were observed in western and central parts of Eritrea, in several parts of South Sudan, in southern parts of Sudan, in northern, western and central parts of Ethiopia, in parts of southern Somalia, in northeastern and northern Uganda, in southeastern Kenya, in much of Burundi, and in northwestern, central northeastern, western and parts of southwestern Tanzania
Near Normal and no rainfall conditions were observed in several parts of Sudan, in parts of Djibouti, in southwestern and northeastern parts of Ethiopia, in northeastern part of Somalia, in southwestern and southeastern South Sudan, in several parts of Rwanda and Uganda, in parts of western and coastal Kenya, and in parts of north and northeastern Tanzania.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in parts of northern and western Ethiopia, in much of northern, western, central and south-central South Sudan, in northern and eastern parts of Uganda, in much of Burundi, in parts of southern Somalia and southeastern Kenya, and in northwestern and western parts of Tanzania.
Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in southern and eastern Ethiopia, in northwestern and central parts of Somalia, in several parts of Kenya, and in southern parts of Tanzania.
Usual rainfall conditions and no rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.
Moderate to heavy rainfall of between 51-200 mm was observed in southern Ethiopia, in central Somalia, in central and southeastern Uganda, in western central and coastal parts of Kenya in northern and southern parts of Rwanda, and in coastal and parts of southeastern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall of between 26 - 50 mm was observed in southwestern and southeastern South Sudan, in several parts of northern, western and southwestern Uganda, in parts of eastern Ethiopia, in parts of central and southern Somalia, and in several parts of Rwanda.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in parts of western Eritrea, in northern, central and western Ethiopia, in northern and southern parts of Somalia, in northeastern, central and western parts of South Sudan, in northwestern, north-central, eastern and southeastern Kenya, in several parts of Burundi, and in parts of northwestern, northeastern and southwestern Tanzania.
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in much of Sudan, Djibouti, in several parts of Eritrea, in northwestern South Sudan, in parts of northeastern Ethiopia, in northeastern Somalia, in parts of southeastern Kenya, in southern Burundi, and in central and western parts of Tanzania
