Rainfall
Moderately wet to severely extremely conditions were observed southern parts of Ethiopia, in southeastern South Sudan, in several parts of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, and in southern Burundi.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in a few areas in western Eritrea, northern Ethiopia and eastern parts of South Sudan.
Much of the rest of the region recorded near normal rainfall
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in the southern parts of Ethiopia, in southeastern and western South Sudan, in several parts of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, and in southern Burundi.
Drier than and much drier than usual conditions were observed in several parts of Eritrea, in northern and northeastern Ethiopia, and in parts of western, central and northwestern South Sudan.
No rainfall condition was observed in several parts of western and southern South Sudan, Rwanda, northern Burundi, Djibouti, and in northwestern parts of Tanzania.
No rainfall condition was observed in much of Sudan, Somalia, in northern parts of South Sudan, western Eritrea, and in northwestern and eastern Ethiopia.
High rainfall of between 50-300mm was recorded in southwestern Ethiopia, in eastern and southeastern Uganda, in western, central and southwestern Kenya, and in much of Burundi and Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall of between 26-50 mm was observed in in several parts of Uganda and Rwanda, in southeastern part of South Sudan, in parts of southwestern Ethiopia, in northwestern part of Tanzania, and in northwestern, central and southern Kenya.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in southern parts of South Sudan, in central and northeastern Ethiopia, in in southeastern parts of Somalia and in eastern Kenya.
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in the rest of the region.
