Rainfall
Moderately wet to extremely wet conditions were observed in western Ethiopia, in eastern South Sudan, in central and southeastern Kenya, in southern Somalia, in southwestern Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, and in northwestern Tanzania.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in southern Eritrea, in northern and central Ethiopia, in isolated parts of southern South Sudan, in northwestern parts of Kenya and in northern coast of Tanzania
Drier than usual conditions were observed in several parts of central and southern Eritrea, several parts of Ethiopia, in central parts of Somalia, in western and southeastern South Sudan, in northeastern Uganda, in northwestern and northern parts of Kenya and in eastern, central and southern Tanzania.
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in much of Rwanda and Burundi, in western Ethiopia extending into eastern South Sudan, in southwestern Uganda, in southern parts of Somalia, in southeastern and central parts of Kenya, and in northwestern Tanzania.
No rainfall condition was observed in in much of Sudan, western Eritrea, in northern and central Somalia, in northwestern, central and northeastern parts of Ethiopia, in northern and central parts of South Sudan, in northwestern Kenya, and in parts of central Tanzania.
Near Normal conditions were observed much of the rest of the Region.
Rainfall exceeding 100 mm was observed in a few areas in central and eastern Kenya, in southern Somalia, in northern Burundi, and in part of northwestern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall of between 26-100 mm was observed in much of western, central and southern Uganda in much of Rwanda and Burundi, in northwestern Tanzania, in central to southeastern Kenya, and in southern parts of Somalia.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in southern parts of South Sudan, in southwestern and southern Ethiopia, in northern, central and western Kenya, in parts of southern Somalia, and in northeastern, eastern and southern Tanzania.
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in the rest of the region.
