Drier than and much drier than usual conditions were observed in several parts of Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, central and eastern Ethiopia, South Sudan and Uganda, in western parts of Kenya, southern parts of Sudan, in western Rwanda and in northwestern and central Tanzania.

Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in southwestern Sudan, in northeastern South Sudan, in western Ethiopia, in eastern and coastal Kenya in central Rwanda, and in western eastern and southeastern Tanzania.

No rainfall condition was observed mainly in Sudan, parts of Djibouti and in parts of northeastern Somalia.

Near normal rainfall condition was observed in much of the rest of the region.

Moderate to high rainfall of between 25-200mm was recorded in southwestern Ethiopia, in southeastern Somalia, in southern Uganda, in western, central eastern southern and coastal Kenya, in much of Kenya and Burundi, and in northern eastern, and western parts of Tanzania.

Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in much of South Sudan, in central Eritrea, in northern, central and eastern Ethiopia, in northern Uganda, in parts of southern Somalia, in northwestern and eastern part of Kenya, and in central and southwestern Tanzania.

Moderately dry to extremely dry conditions were observed in coastal, and central to southern Eritrea, in several parts of Djibouti, in central to eastern Ethiopia, in northern and central Somalia, in central to southern parts of South Sudan, in much of Uganda in western Kenya, in western Rwanda and in a few parts of northwestern Tanzania.

Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in northeastern South Sudan, extending in parts of western Eritrea and parts of southeastern Sudan, in parts of eastern and central Kenya, in eastern parts of Rwanda, and in western and eastern Tanzania.
