Rainfall
Moderate to heavy rainfall between 50 - 200 mm was observed in a few areas in south-central and southeastern Sudan, in western and northwestern parts of Ethiopia, in northwestern and western South Sudan and in part of western highlands of Kenya.
Light rainfall between 25 - 50 mm was observed in southern parts of Sudan, in parts of central Ethiopia, in northeastern, central, eastern and southwestern South Sudan, in several parts of western, central and southeastern Uganda, in western parts of Kenya, and in several parts of Rwanda.
Rainfall between 5 - 25 mm was observed in southwestern, central to eastern parts of Sudan, in southeastern part of South Sudan, in several parts of Djibouti, in northeastern and eastern Ethiopia and southern parts of central Ethiopia, in northwestern Somalia, in parts of northeastern and southwestern Uganda, in parts of the eastern margins of western Kenya, in southern parts of Rwanda, northern parts of Burundi, and in a few areas in northwestern Tanzania.
Usual dry (usually dry in this time of season) was observed in the northern and central parts of Sudan, in coastal, western and central parts of Eritrea, in some parts of coastal Djibouti, in several parts of northeastern, central and southern Somalia, in eastern and southern parts of Ethiopia, in northern, eastern, central, coastal and southern parts of Kenya, in parts of southern Burundi, and in several parts of Tanzania.
Wetter than usual conditions were observed in parts of central and southeastern Sudan, in southern parts of Eritrea, in much of Djibouti, in northwestern and northeastern Ethiopia, in a few areas in northwestern and northeastern South Sudan, in some parts of northwestern Somalia.
Usual rainfall conditions were observed some areas in the southern parts of Sudan, in much of the northern parts of South Sudan, in several parts of northern, western and central Ethiopia, in southeastern parts of Uganda, extending to western Kenya, and in some parts of Rwanda.
Drier than usual conditions were observed in southwestern, central and eastern parts of Sudan, in western Eritrea, in southern and eastern parts of Ethiopia, in southern parts of South Sudan, in several parts of Uganda, in central and eastern parts of Kenya, in northeastern, central and southern parts of Somalia, in much of Rwanda, and in northwestern, and eastern parts of Tanzania. Much of the rest of the region recorded no rain.
Moderately to severely wet rainfall conditions was observed in parts of central and southeastern Sudan, in parts of southern Eritrea, in much of Djibouti, in parts of northeastern Ethiopia, in a few areas in northwest and northeast South Sudan, and in some parts of northern Somalia.
Moderately to severely dry rainfall conditions were observed in parts of southwestern, central, south-central and eastern Sudan, in a few areas in western Eritrea, in southern parts of South Sudan, in southern parts of Ethiopia, in several parts of Uganda, in several parts of Burundi, and in some areas in northwestern Tanzania.
Near Normal or dry: much of the rest of the region recorded near normal or generally dry conditions.
