Rainfall
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in parts of norther and southeastern Ethiopia, in parts of northern and central Somalia, and in central and southeastern Uganda.
Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in parts of South Sudan, in southwestern and eastern parts of Ethiopia, in southwestern and western Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, and in parts of central Kenya.
Usual rainfall conditions and no rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.
Drier than usual conditions were observed in western, central to eastern Sudan, in several parts of Eritrea, in coastal Djibouti, in northern and southern Ethiopia, in several parts of Somalia, in central to southeastern Uganda, in several parts of southwestern and coastal Kenya, and in much of eastern and coastal Tanzania.
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in parts of South Sudan, in southwestern and northeastern Ethiopia, southwestern Uganda, in much of Rwanda and Burundi, in parts of northwestern Tanzania, and parts of central Kenya.
No rainfall condition was observed in northern to central Sudan, in coastal and central Eritrea, in northeastern, central and southwestern Somalia, in southeastern and southern and northeastern parts of Ethiopia, in northern, eastern, central and south-central Kenya, and in several parts of northern, central, western and southern Tanzania.
Near Normal were observed much of the rest of the Region.
Rainfall of exceeding 100 mm was observed a few isolated areas in western Ethiopia and northwestern South Sudan.
Moderate rainfall of between 26-100 mm was observed in southern parts of Sudan, in much of South Sudan, in western Ethiopia, in several parts of Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, in parts of western Kenya, and in parts of northwestern Tanzania.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in central and southern parts of Sudan, in southwestern Eritrea, in parts of Djibouti, in parts of central and eastern Ethiopia, in northeastern and southern Uganda, in parts of western and central Kenya, in parts of northern Somalia, and in parts of northwestern Tanzania
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in the rest of the region.
