Rainfall
Drier than usual conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in western and central Eritrea, in several parts of Ethiopia and Somalia, in southeastern parts of South Sudan, in much of Rwanda and Burundi, in northwestern, central and southwestern Uganda, and in northwestern parts of Tanzania.
Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in northeastern Ethiopia, and in northeastern part of Somalia.
Near Normal and no rainfall conditions were observed in several parts of Sudan, in southern Eritrea, in much of Djibouti, in northern and eastern parts of Kenya, in several parts of South Sudan and Uganda, in southwestern Somalia, and in northeastern and eastern Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall of between 51-100 mm was observed in western Ethiopia, western South Sudan, southwestern Uganda, in parts of western, central and coastal Kenya, and in northeastern coast of Tanzania.
Moderate rainfall of between 26 - 50 mm was observed in several parts of South Sudan, in parts of western and central Ethiopia, in northern central and western parts of Uganda, and in parts of western and central Kenya.
Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in southern parts of Sudan, in northern, central, eastern and southern Ethiopia, in several parts of Somalia, in southeastern Kenya, in western and southwestern Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda and Burundi, and in northern and eastern parts of Tanzania.
Rainfall less than 5mm was observed in much of Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, in northeastern Ethiopia, in northeastern parts of Somalia, in northern and eastern Kenya, in southern Burundi, and in western, central and parts of southern Tanzania.
Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in southwestern Eritrea, in northwestern, western, central and northeastern parts of Ethiopia extending into the northern parts of Somalia, in southwestern part of South Sudan, in northwestern, southwestern and parts of western and southern Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda, in western and eastern Burundi, and in several parts around Lake Victoria.
Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in western parts of South Sudan, and in central and south-central and in parts of coastal Kenya.
Usual rainfall conditions and no rainfall conditions were observed in much of the rest of the region.
