Recent rainfall totals

Moderate to high rainfall of between 26-200mm was recorded in some parts of western Ethiopia, in parts of western and eastern South Sudan, in northern, central, western and southeastern Uganda, and in parts of western Kenya.

Light rainfall of between 6- 25 mm occurred in the southern parts of Sudan, in central, eastern and southern parts of Ethiopia, in northern and southern Somalia, in central and coastal parts of Kenya, in northern and southeastern parts of South Sudan, in southwestern Uganda, in several parts of Rwanda, in northern parts of Burundi and in northern and eastern parts of Tanzania.

Much of the rest of the region received less than 5mm of rainfall .

Moderately dry to severely dry conditions were observed in the southern parts of Sudan, in southwestern Eritrea, in northern and southwestern parts of South Sudan, in southern and eastern Ethiopia, in several parts of northern and central Somalia, in central and southeastern Kenya, in western Rwanda, in northwestern, northeastern and southern Tanzania, and in several parts of Burundi

Moderately wet to severely wet conditions were observed in a few areas in northern, western and central Uganda, in western parts of Kenya, and in central and eastern part of South Sudan.

Recent rainfall anomalies

Drier than and much drier than usual conditions were observed in southern parts of Sudan, in northern parts of South Sudan, in western and central Eritrea, in central, southern and eastern Ethiopia, in several parts of Somalia, in central and much of eastern and southeastern Kenya, in southwestern part of Uganda, in western Rwanda, much of Burundi, and in northwestern, northeastern and coastal parts of Tanzania.

Wetter than and much wetter than usual conditions were observed in a few parts of northern, western and central Uganda, and in parts of western Kenya.

Near normal rainfall condition was observed in central to southern parts of South Sudan, parts of western and northern Ethiopia, in much of Uganda, and in parts of western Kenya.
