Moderate to Low Rainfall (6–25mm)
- Observed along the coastal areas of Tanzania, Kenya, and Somalia; central to western Kenya; several parts of Uganda; a few areas of South Sudan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and northern Somalia.
Very Low or No Rainfall
- Observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, southern Uganda, several parts of Kenya, south to eastern parts of Ethiopia, several parts of Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, and Sudan.
Wetter than Normal to Much Wetter than Normal Conditions
- Much Wetter than Normal: Observed over most of Sudan, central to western Ethiopia, western Eritrea, and a northern belt of South Sudan.
- Wetter than Normal: Observed in areas surrounding the much-wetter-than-normal zones highlighted above.
Near Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed along the northern and coastal parts of Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda and western Kenya.
Much Drier and Drier than Normal Conditions
- Predominantly observed in Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, with pockets in South Sudan and Sudan.
