More than 40.3 million people face high levels of acute food insecurity across six IGAD Member States in 2026, according to the eighth edition of the IGAD Regional Focus of the Global Report on Food Crises.

The report examines food insecurity, acute malnutrition and displacement in Djibouti, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda. It highlights the impact of conflict, climate extremes and economic shocks, and provides evidence to guide action by Member States and partners.
