The 6th Sub-Regional Climate Outlook Forum (Sub-COF6)
From 8th to 10th September, Lodwar, Kenya, brought together climate experts, government leaders, pastoral representatives, indigenous forecasters and journalists from across the region for Sub-COF6.
With a strong El Niño developing and wetter-than-usual rains expected, participants focused on one critical question: how do we turn forecasts into early action?
From sharing climate information in local languages to connecting science with indigenous knowledge and strengthening preparedness, the goal was clear — help communities prepare before the rains arrive.
Because a forecast only matters when people can act on it.
