Rainfall
No heavy rainfall (exceeding 1000 mm) recorded in the region.
Moderate rainfall (between 500 - 1000 mm) recorded in eastern and southern Burundi, and in north-western Tanzania.
Light rainfall (between 200 - 500 mm) recorded in western and southern Uganda, western, central and south-eastern Kenya, Rwanda, northern and western Burundi, and most of Tanzania.
Very light rainfall (between 10 - 200 mm) recorded in coastal and central Eritrea, coastal Djibouti, north, central and south-western Ethiopia, western, eastern and southern parts of South Sudan, northern Uganda, southern Somalia, and north-eastern Kenya.
Dry conditions (normal at this time of year) recorded in most parts of Sudan, western Eritrea, northern South Sudan, eastern Ethiopia, northern and central Somalia, and north-western Kenya.
Wetter than usual conditions observed in western Ethiopia, north-western Tanzania, eastern Burundi, and in isolated parts of eastern Kenya and southern Somalia.
Normal rainfall conditions observed in South Sudan, Eritrea, northern and western Ethiopia, western and southern Uganda, eastern, western and southern Kenya, and most of Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania.
Moderately drier than usual conditions observed in central and southern parts of Ethiopia, Djibouti, northern Uganda. These extended to north-western and western Kenya, southern Somalia, and south-western parts of Tanzania.
